Xiaomi officially launches 2 new Redmi smartphones with ‘Sport’ frills. They are Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport released in India. Considering the prices and specs, both of them belong to the entry-level category. They have a few similarities.

One of the similarities can be seen on their screens. Both of them use IPS LCD 6.53-inch screen with HD+ resolution. They also come with waterdrop style to accommodate a 5MP selfie camera. Even though they are similar, there are still some differences between Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport. One of the main differences is on its RAM. Besides that, their storage capacities are also different.

Xiaomi Redmi 9A Sport

As stated earlier, Redmi 9A Sport use 6.53” IPS LCD screen producing HD+ resolution. Its screen has 90:9 aspect ratio and 81% screen-to-body ratio. On the screen, you can find a small pony in a waterdrop shape that loads a 5MP selfie camera.

Redmi 9A Sport is equipped with MediaTek Helio G25 (12nm) chipset with 2 options of RAM and storage media. They are 2 GB RAM/ 32 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM/32 GB ROM. The storage capacity can be expanded through microSD slot.

Moving to the back of the phone, Redmi 9A has a rear camera arranged vertically side by side with LED flash. That camera comes with 13 MP resolutions PDAF.

In addition, Redmi 9A Sport is supported with a 5,000 mAh battery capacity. This battery comes with 10-Watt charging. This Smartphone runs Android 10 OS and is coated with MIUI 12 interface.

Other specs include video recording 1080p, 3.5 mm jack audio, Wi-Fi 802.11, Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by), micro-USB port, Bluetooth 5.0, AI Face Unlock, and P2i Coating to protect the body from water splash. There are 3 color options you can choose. They include Coral Green, Metallic Blue, and Carbon Black.

Xiaomi Redmi 9i Sport

Redmi 9i Sport also adopts a 6.53” IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels). Its screen comes with 81% screen-to-body ration and 20:9 aspect ratios. The different between Redmi 9A Sport and this one can be seen on its RAM and storage capacity. Redmi 9i Sport comes with 2 options of bigger RAM. They are 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM/128 GB ROM. Redmi 9i Sport is also equipped with MediaTek Helio G25 chipset with 12nm fabrication.

At the back of the phone, there is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF. On the other side, it offers a 5MP front camera. This Smartphone runs Android 10 OS coated with MIUI 12 interface. This new Xiaomi Smartphone is also supported with a 5,000 mAh battery.

Other features include video recording 198p (30fps), 3.5 mm jack audio, Wi-Fi802.11, microSD slot, Dual SIM, micro-USB port, Bluetooth 5.0, AI Face Unlock, and P2i coating. The color options include Coral Green, Metallic Blue, and Carbon Black. Redmi 9A Sport costs 6.999 Rupee (2GB/32GB) and 7.999 Rupee (3GB/32GB) whereas Redmi 9i Sport costs 8.799 Rupee (4GB/65GB) and 9.299 Rupee (4GB/128GB).
